Ivory Coast-AIP/ ONAD strengthens its fight against corruption through a training workshop

Abidjan, December 18, 2025 (AIP) – The National Sanitation and Drainage Office (ONAD) organized a training workshop on Thursday, December 18, 2025, in Abidjan, focusing on Ordinance No. 2013-660 concerning the prevention and fight against corruption and related offenses.

The Director General of ONAD, Amara Sanogo, explained that the objective of this training was to strengthen the knowledge and skills of staff in the areas of good governance and integrity. “The fight against corruption is not only a legal requirement, it is a moral imperative, a civic duty, and an essential pillar of public performance,” he stated.

The Secretary General of the High Authority for Good Governance (HABG), Diamouténé Oumar, emphasized that governance is the driving force behind public performance. He commended ONAD for its commitment to good governance and integrity.

“Integrity means choosing to do what is right, even when no one is watching,” added Mr. Diamouténé, who encouraged ONAD staff to demonstrate ethical conduct in their daily work.

The training workshop brought together ONAD staff and representatives from the High Authority for Biodiversity (HABG) to discuss mechanisms for preventing and combating corruption, as well as best practices in governance and integrity.

“The commitment to implementing an ethical policy within ONAD marks a historic step,” declared Koné Souleymane, Chairman of the ONAD Board of Directors, who opened the training workshop.

The Director General of ONAD encouraged his colleagues to listen attentively and actively participate in order to fully grasp the best practices that would be presented. “We are determined to make ONAD a model of good governance and integrity,” he affirmed.

For Amara Sanogo, preventing and combating corruption can only be effective if each of us personally commits to exemplary behavior and promoting a culture of integrity.

ONAD is committed to continuing its efforts to strengthen transparency and accountability in the management of public funds and to promote a culture of integrity and good governance.
